Ring Terminology

Every Ring Tells a Story

The great feature of our rings is that they can be customized and personalized to each recipient. As you design your ring, think of what story you want the class ring to say.

Rings for Colleges and Universities

These are: “Diplomas that we wear.” As such, the ring will show the school’s name and crest (if any). It will also show the degree earned and year of graduation. It can also show images of the program studies or images of school activities. These rings become great ice breakers in conversations and is a way to link alumni with each other.

Rings for High School and Middle School

These rings are a reflection of student’s life in school. The ring typically has the school’s name on top. It also may have the student’s name and year of graduation. It will also show images of the activities the student was involved in. Graduates will reminisce about their school days simply by studying the ring on their finger.

Company or Corporate Rings for Employee Recognition

Jewelry and more specifically rings are the best way to recognize the achievements of employees. Our rings are designed to last a lifetime which means the employee will have a permanent reminder of their achievements. As a permanent fixture in their lives, the ring actually becomes more valuable to the employee as time goes by

Some companies will present employees with a “consumable” award, such as, gift certificate to a restaurant, a piece of electronics, etc. The problem with these awards is that once they are used up or thrown away, there is nothing to remind the employee of their achievement.

Here are some typical company or corporate rings used to recognize employees:

  • Service Awards or years or years of service rings. These rings identify the company with name and logo as well as the years that the employee has been with the company. Additional personalization would show the name of the employee which all employees appreciate very much.
  • Sales Awards. These are rings made to recognize milestones hit by salespeople over a period of time. These tend to be larger championship style rings recognizing the champions in your company. They are also great conversation pieces in meetings with perspective customers.
  • Retirement Awards. Elaborate and fancy company ring showing the company name and logo as well as the employee’s name and years of service. These awards end up being some of the most cherished items that employees have. We are surprised how many employees who have retired from companies, contact us to make retirement rings at their own expense
  • Safety Awards. Companies recognize the exceptional ability of some employees to go about their (dangerous) jobs in a safe manner. Measuring safety performance and awarding employees for hitting specific milestones is a great way to encourage a culture of safety within the company.
  • Executive Rings. Award your executives for their dedicated service with an exceptional ring recognizing their tenure in the company. These are typically championship style rings recognizing the championship style of achievements.

Club (Motorcycle, Car, Social, etc.) or Fraternity Rings

Membership in a club can be recognized by members having a common ring design to symbolize their connection to the club and to each other.

These rings typically show the name and logo of the club or organization. In addition, they can be personalized to the recipient by adding their name, a membership number, chapter name, etc.
